• Understand DDR concepts, policies, and strategies.
• Identify components, activities, and issues related to DDR.
• Recognize actors and institutions involved in DDR.
• Demonstrate practical skills in working on DDR.
• Understand how DDR can adapt to new environments.

Beyond KAIPTC’s standard criteria, preference will be given to operational/mid-level personnel with at least six months’ experience in DDR or those from countries about to embark on DDR initiatives.

This training adopts a Collaborative Problem-Based Learning (CPBL) approach, combining presentations, group discussions, teamwork, Q&A sessions, case studies, and practical or field exercises. Expert facilitators will guide discussions, stimulate critical thinking, and help participants apply DDR tools and concepts. These interactive methods ensure participants gain hands-on familiarity with the key principles and practices of DDR.

The course will be structured around six comprehensive modules:

1. Introduction to DDR, Legal and Policy Frameworks;
2. Planning for DDR;
3. Structures and Operations
4. Support to DDR;
5. Reintegration;
6. Cross Cutting Issues.

After the deadline, the selection board will meet and decide selection based on merit and a balanced class composition. The process will be as following:

• Selection Board will decide on shortlisted and waitlisted applications
• Shortlisted candidates will be asked to confirm their seats bindingly
• Should not all shortlisted candidates confirm their seats, these will be offered to candidates on the waitlist on “first come first served” basis
