Welcome to KAIPTC
Academic programmes were introduced into the KAIPTC in 2011 and thereby made the Centre the first African peacekeeping training school to run postgraduate courses. Since that time, the Centre has opened its doors to students of diverse backgrounds, from 26 countries dotted on four continents and share a common goal of making Africa and the entire world, safer, harmonious and developmentally sustainable for their generation and those to come. Students are equipped with the academic foundation, analytical tools and practical skills to work towards conflict prevention, peacemaking, peacekeeping, peacebuilding and reconstruction within broadly inclusive and participatory environments.
Potential candidates have a choice of a growing list of programmes including:
The KAIPTC’s is under the mentorship of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) with respect to its tertiary level programmes.
Lecturers are drawn from our experienced and widely published internal and adjunct faculty. The quality and further development of the programmes is advised by an Academic Board and coordinated by an Academic Administrative Committee.
KAIPTC is one of three institutions designated by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) as a regional Centre of Excellence for the delivery of training and research in the areas of conflict prevention, management and peacebuilding. The KAIPTC has to date offered over 400 courses in diverse aspects of peace support operations for over 11,000 military, police and civilian personnel.
KAIPTC develops and delivers internationally recognized multidimensional and integrated Peace Support Operations training courses and also collaborates with partners to host peace and security programmes and activities at regional and continental levels.
